A woman was dragged behind a speeding car driven by thieves after stubbornly refusing to let go of her prized monogram denim.

The fashion conscious 22-year-old was targeted by fake louis vuitton as she walked along St Mary Street in Edinburgh on Tuesday morning.

Police said she was attacked near the Travelodge hotel in the street when a group of three men in a dark hatchback car called her over.

As she approached the Sobe Collection a man in the back of the car grabbed the designer handbag.

The driver then gunned the vehicle down the city centre street, just off the Royal Mile.
